Ain’t no party like a Sea Life party. Get down with the fishes at this silent disco

What is it?

Get down amongst the fishes at this super silent disco

Why buy?

Beyoncé may not think that you’re ready for her jelly, but SEA LIFE London is absolutely positive you’re ready for theirs. Now they’ve launched their brand new jellyfish experience, so naturally, we’re hosting a silent disco in the world-famous water hole.

Yep, you heard us, you can enjoy one of our signature parties while under the sea! (Okay, it‘s not actually under the sea, but as close as possible without the risk of drowning). So don some glowing headphones and tune into one of three channels to be immersed into the world of water – and as part of your trip, also enjoy a curated ‘chill-out tour’ of the brand new, fascinating jellyfish experience. It’s enlightening, sensory and it costs just £29. Plus, you’ll also receive a welcome drink on arrival. Shell yeah.

What is it?

It’s your chance to party in the clouds at Time Out’s very own, award-nominated, Silent Disco – a cool 72 floors up at The View from The Shard.

Why go?

Because what’s cooler than incredible nighttime panoramic views of London, craft cocktails and enough music to keep everyone in your group happy – whether they’re Tay-Tay’s ‘Swifties’, Nirvana nostalgia trippers or house heads. DJs will be competing at the decks for your attention across three channels, each of which is accessible via your personal pair of wireless headphones. And if you want to chat? Simply remove your cans and you and your mates will actually be able to hear each other. When it comes to clubbing, there’s no experience like this. Plus, this exclusive party costs just £5.50 more than a usual ticket to The Shard’s viewing deck, so combining two of London’s finest experiences in on one awesome evening is a pretty much a no-brainer, right?

Get your gobble on at these incredibly niche London food and drink events
In a city where street food markets reign supreme, the wandering foodie can sometimes feel totally overwhelmed. Thank the Lord, then, for these upcoming food and drinks events, each of which has its own very specific niche…

Scotch Egg Challenge

If you haven’t heard of it before, you’ve been living under a flaky breadcrumb crust. The Scotch Egg Challenge is now in its ninth year, and it’s more full-on than ever: the event sees a panel of egg-sperts conduct a blind taste test to find out who’s really cracked it in the scotch egg game from a shortlist of some of the city’s finest chefs. This year’s roster includes the likes of last year’s winner Meedu Saad from Smoking Goat, Brat’s Tomos Parry, Holborn Dining Room’s Calum Franklin and loads more. It’s free to attend, but you’d best scramble for a good spot to nab an oozy treat – those nearest get to eat the leftovers. Canonbury Tavern. Highbury & Islington tube. Wed Apr 10. Free entry.

Hot Sauce Society

Great balls of fire! London’s first hot sauce festival is here, with the Hot Sauce Society bringing together more than 30 independent hot sauce makers from around the UK and beyond. There’ll be fiery street food from Babek Brothers and Lord of the Wings on offer, red hot beer pong and plenty of spicy, saucy prizes up for grabs. Feeling hot, hot, hot? Nah, they’re just warming up, mate. Copeland Park. Peckham Rye Overground. Sat Apr 13. Free.

FesTeaVal

If the previous event seems a little too fiery for you, raise a milky mug to National Tea Day at this two-day festival. In 2019, you’ll find the festivities brewing at Tobacco Dock, with infusions flowing all day long, plenty of hands-on workshops to get stuck into, and mindfulness and yoga sessions, if that’s your cup of… well, you get the picture. Tobacco Dock. Shadwell Overground. Sat Apr 13-Sun Apr 14. £15.
