1/2 Just as a note, keeping your light meter at zero doesn’t mean you’ll have perfect photos, you need to know how to

keeping the light meter at -1/3 or -2/3 depending on the surrounding light turns out better photos imo. Try it sometime and compare.

If you shoot RAW, do the opposite and drag back your exposure in post. Better SNR is maintained.
