‘I led people into hell’: how North Korea lured immigrants / 100000 Japanese left Japan and moved to North Korea

Aug 25, 2023

Hyangsu Park grew up in Japan’s small North Korean community, a group centred around the idea that the secretive authoritarian state was actually a “paradise on Earth”.

For Park, the notion of a North Korean paradise was more than just an idea – it was a daily reality for her relatives who were convinced to move there by a long-running PR campaign offering ethnic Koreans from Japan citizenship, flats and jobs.

But when her uncle, aunt and cousins suddenly disappeared, it became clear that the reality in North Korea was far from paradise.

Aug 26, 2023

Between 1959 and 1984, about 94,000 people abandoned their lives in Japan to pursue fresh starts in North Korea. Almost all of them were ethnic Koreans who had ties to a prominent pro-North Korean lobby.

Referred to as – a Japanese word for foreign nationals “staying in Japan” – the group faced discrimination in Japan. But does that explain why they chose to move to one of the most repressive countries on Earth? And what did they find when they arrived in North Korea?

The American justification for dropping the atomic bombs in Japan …

19 Jul 2023

In a 1965 interview with CBS News, J. Robert Oppenheimer said about the atomic bomb, “The ending of the war by this means, certainly cruel, was not undertaken lightly. But I am not, as of today, confident that a better course was then open. I have not a very good answer to this question.”

Submarine high-speed rail tunnel and trains that reach a speed of 620 kilometers per hour in China | Infrastructure & Engineering

Jul 14, 2023

China is about to build the first submarine high-speed rail tunnel. How is it different from the construction of high-speed rail on the ground? What are the requirements for the construction of submarine tunnels?

How to excavate the undersea tunnel? Hi, everyone. Welcome to Hot Topics Time, a channel to interpret news from a new perspective, and explore the wisdom behind the news. In the field of maglev trains, China has been lagging behind. Germany and Japan have absolute hegemony in maglev train technology. Germany specializes in conventional maglev trains. In 2009, the speed of maglev trains developed by Germany reached 550 kilometers per hour. Janpan specializes in low-temperature superconducting maglev trains and set a world record of 603 kilometers per hour.

Compared with Germany and Japan, the high-temperature superconducting maglev train developed by China recently is a brand-new technology. In January 2021, China has developed a prototype train, which has not been officially put into mass production. After the prototype is produced, it can reach a speed of 620 kilometers per hour, directly setting a new record for land transportation speed. This kind of train has the advantages of high speed and high efficiency. In addition, it does not need to use various energy sources including petroleum.

The high-temperature superconducting magnetic levitation train only needs to use liquid nitrogen as power, and will not emit any harmful gas during the whole process. It can achieve the goal of energy saving and environmental protection. Unlike Japan’s low-temperature superconducting maglev train, China’s high-temperature superconducting maglev train does not require a run-up to achieve true magnetic levitation.

So, what is an ultra-high temperature and high-conductivity magnetic levitation train? How does it achieve a speed of 620 kilometers per hour? Besides being fast, what advantages does it have? Hi, everyone. Welcome to Hot Topics Time, a channel to interpret news from a new perspective, and explore the wisdom behind the news. Before we start today’s video, please subscribe to our channel, which is the encouragement that we can create more videos. OK, let’s continue the topic we are talking about .

Shocking Laws okay in Japan, but illegal around the world. So I’ve made videos before on things you can’t do in Japan because of laws or unknown laws that could get you arrested, but in this video I wanted to switch things up a little and share with you some things that are legal in Japan but may be illegal in other parts of the world. Many think that Japan is a very strict country, but when you hear some of these Japanese laws you may be scratching your head. And to be clear from the start, I don’t recommend doing any of these things. I’m not providing legal advice and this is for entertainment only.

This… is Tokyo’s Smallest Luxury apartment! Last time we looked at Tokyo’s cheapest (and worst?) apartment (https://youtu.be/Y9xTdu4_sgs), and today we are are going a little deeper with Tokyo, Japan’s TINIEST Luxury apartment!

Built by a well-known Japanese designer, today we are taking a peek inside Tokyo Japan’s weirdest tiny apartment. One of the most interesting and unique buildings I have had the chance to step inside here in Japan.

Today we are taking a peek inside of Tokyo, Japan’s cheapest tiny apartment. At just 9,800 yen per month (or, around $100), this is currently the cheapest apartment available in the central Tokyo area. It is certainly a tiny apartment, but there are definitely smaller ones…[here is Tokyo’s smallest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ7Bu…] so what makes this place so cheap?? Let’s take a tour!

Some units even smaller than the last apartment we visited: https://youtu.be/jZ7Bu_SDJgM

have you tried natto ? | can you stomach it ? | lower cardiovascular disease, increase wellness & longevity

25 Sept 2018

It’s a much-loved, protein-packed Japanese food standby. It’s also made of slimy, stinky soybeans. By popular request, this week Reactions is all about the chemistry of natto.

14 Jul 2020

The sticky, slimy, smelly fermented soybeans are loaded with vitamins and probiotics, and are linked to a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

5 Jul 2017

For more info please visit my Natto Dad blog. Thank you for watching! Forgot to mention… After the fermentation is done, store natto in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. After that, portion out and freeze. I also switched to sanitizing with boiling water instead of using chemicals so thank you for the input!
